Vlatko Andonovski will not return to FC Kansas City

The two time NWSL Championship coach has taken another job

It has been confirmed that Vlatko Andonovski will not return as FC Kansas City’s coach for next year. Andonovski has taken another position that should be announced in the near future.

Sources close to the situation report that FC Kansas City did not even offer to negotiate with Andonovski, leaving him no other choice but to move on to other opportunities.

Andonovski is the only head coach FC Kansas City has known. The Macedonian native was a surprise pick to many in women’s soccer when he was chosen to lead the Blues in their inaugural year but turned critics into believers with his success.

After the initial success of making the playoffs in 2013, Andonovski backed it up with winning back-to-back NWSL Championships in 2014 and 2015.

The Blues were wracked with retirements, injuries and pregnancies the next two seasons but Andonovski was still able to keep his teams within striking distance of the playoffs each year.

Andonovski was also successful with the Kansas City Comets indoor soccer team, coaching them to the playoffs each year and winning a championship while pulling double duty as head coach of both teams.
