A report came out on Wednesday linking Sporting Kansas City to prolific Argentinian striker Mauro Boselli.

Mexican newspaper El Universal reported that Sporting KC has made a $4 million dollar offer for the 32-year-old Boselli, who has spent the past five seasons with Liga MX powerhouse León. In that time, he has scored more than 100 goals in all competitions and has been a centerpiece of their attack.

Boselli has played for Boca Juniors, Estudiantes, and Wigan in addition to León. He’s been capped four times for the Argentine senior team but hasn’t played for Argentina since 2011.

Sporting Kansas City desperately need a finisher and are reportedly ready to spend some serious cash this offseason. Sporting finished 17th in the league in goals scored with only 40 goals off of 514 shots. Boselli would be one of the biggest signings in recent history for Sporting KC if this deal were to come to fruition and would instantly improve Sporting KC’s chances in 2018.

It is also important to remember that this rumor is just that: a rumor. Stay tuned for more information as the 2018 Silly Season continues on.
