Erik Palmer-Brown has again been called into the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team camp by head coach Tab Ramos. Palmer-Brown left Sporting Kansas City training camp at the conclusion of him playing in their first preseason game Tuesday.
Ramos called in 24 players in preparation for the 2017 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in February. Four nations will qualify for the 2017 FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup in South Korea in May. Palmer-Brown was with the previous camp and competed in the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand and captained them at the 2015 Stevan Vilotic Tournament in Serbia.
Training camp will run through Feb. 10 in Orlando, Florida and Ramos will narrow the roster down to the final 20 player roster.
The Lee’s Summit, Missouri native recently returned from loan to Portuguese FC Porto where he helped Porto B the LigaPro title in May.
Sporting Kansas City manager Peter Vermes noted how Palmer-Brown has chaged with his experience over the last year. “He definitely has matured in both his game on the field and also off the field. He is very determined on what he wants. He’s very determined on what he wants to do as a player. You can see it in the way he trains and the way he plays with the group. It’s been very good.”
