Sporting Kansas City announced on Tuesday that they have added two new members to their 2017 broadcast team.
Matt Lawrence will be the new color analyst, replacing former Sporting Kansas City goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum. Lawrence is a 42-year-old Englishman who played centerback professionally for 20 years for teams such as Millwall, Fulham and Crystal Palace. He retired in 2015 and wrote a weekly column for The Daily Mirror. He was also an analyst for Sky Sports’ Major League Soccer coverage.
Jillian Carroll will replace Kacie McDonnell as the sideline reporter. Carroll grew up in the Kansas City area and played soccer for Saint Thomas Aquinas and at the University of Northern Iowa. She’s spent time working as a sideline reporter for the Kansas City Chiefs, FC Kansas City and the Kansas City Comets.
The two will join returning play-by-play man Nate Bukaty, who started his position prior to the 2015 season.
