MLS: Toronto FC at Sporting KC Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports

MLS Standings | MLS Power Rankings

Five points from three games has SKC sitting in 5th place in the west. Toronto FC are an exact mirror image in east, in 5th place with five points. In the power rankings, KC is at a lukewarm #8. They get to face TFC who is at #3 and pumped up for the home opener. BUT every time I think there is going to be an obvious loss, SKC pulls one out somehow.

Both matches on Fox Sports 1 tonight should be really fun. We get to watch the boys spoil Toronto’s home opener and then Atlanta United FC gets a real test against the Sounders at The CLink.

Injury Report

Swope Park Rangers have won 7 straight home matches

SPR defeated Timbers 2 with a 1-0 victory to start off the season with two straight wins. Going back to last year and the playoff run, they have won seven straight at The Zoo.

Seth Sinovic on why the back four work so well together

The familiarity this back line has with each other is phenomenal. Sinovic and Besler have literally played together their whole lives. This is all a very good sign and is so incredibly important in Peter Vermes’ system.

FC Dallas lock down head coach Oscar Pareja long term

This is well deserved obviously and a great move from Dallas. He led FCD to the Supporter’s Shield and US Open Cup last year and was named 2016 MLS Coach of the Year.

Vancouver Whitecaps trade Kekuta Manneh to Columbus for Tony Tchani

The Whitecaps get $225k in targeted allocation money and $75k in general allocation money in the deal.

Westboro Baptist Church member protests in Sporting KC shirt
