With Hurricane Harvey bearing down on the Texas coast, Sporting Kansas City’s match at the Houston Dynamo has been postponed. The two teams will now face each other on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. CT at BBVA Compass Stadium
For Sporting Kansas City this adds to the congestion at the end of the season with three of the last four matches in October away and three of those in eight days.
- Saturday Oct 7th at Minnesota United
- Wednesday Oct 11th at Houston Dynamo
- Sunday Oct 15th vs Houston Dynamo
- Sunday Oct 22nd at Real Salt Lake
The Dynamo would have been playing on short rest after drawing FC Dallas on Wednesday against a rested Sporting KC. With the postponement Houston will be the rested team when Sporting KC has a quick turnaround after playing away at Minnesota.
The SKC at Houston game is not the only soccer game postponed. The Houston Dash vs. North Carolina Courage game on Sunday, Aug. 27 has been postponed as well. The Courage had a game at FC Kansas City stopped in the first half due to weather earlier in the year and had to return to Kansas City a second time to replay the match.
Now is the time to complete preparations. Tropical-storm-force wind gust recently reported at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station. #Harvey pic.twitter.com/jlw3lEPTEj
