Two reports that came out on Friday say that Sporting Kansas City will sign Martinique forward Kévin Parsemain on a free transfer.

The original report came from RCI Martinique and was confirmed by MLS reporter Jeff Rueter.

Parsemain scored three goals in the 2017 Gold Cup, including two against the United States. He’s the all-time leading scorer for Martinique. He reportedly scored 34 goals in a season for Golden Lion, a club in Martinique.

Parsemain has some brief MLS experience as a training camp-hero for the Seattle Sounders. He electrified the preseason with several goals but an ACL tear knocked him out of the 2014 season and he was waived by the Sounders a year later.

This report has not been confirmed by the club, who are announcing another signing, 15-year-old Gianluca Busio, today. However, Thad Bell of The Blue Testament confirmed that Parsemain is in town.
