On Campus - College Season Kicks Off

The college soccer season kicked off this weekend around the United States and a number of former Sporting Kansas City academy players were on the field for their respective schools as action started. The top performer this week was probably University of North Carolina senior, Zach Wright. Wright and UNC got their season off to a 2-0 start with wins over Providence (4-2) and Rutgers (6-1), in those two games, Wright picked up three assists for the Tar Heels.

Seo-In Kim (UCSB) - MF - RSr - Started UCSB's 0-0 draw with St. Mary's. Started UCSB's 0-0 draw with Siena.

Wes White (Coastal Carolina) - F - RSr - Did not play in Coastal Carolina's 2-1 loss to George Mason.

Class of 2014

Debray Hollimon (San Diego State) - MF - Sr - Did not play in either of San Diego State's games.

Heath Honold (West Virginia) - F - Sr - Did not play in West Virginia's 1-0 win over Cal.

Mason Leonard (Drake) - D - Sr - Started Drake's 3-0 loss to Xavier.

Blake Levine (Baker) - F - Sr - Started and had an assist in Baker's 1-0 win over USAO.

Matthew Lewis (Fordham) - D - Sr - Started Fordham's 0-0 draw with Elon. Started Fordham's 3-0 loss to Duke.

Andy Lopez (North Carolina) - MF - RJr - Came on as a substitute in UNC's 4-2 win over Providence. Came on as a substitute and scored a goal in UNC's 6-1 win over Rutgers.

Noah Mudd (Trevecca) - D - Sr - First game 9/1.

Joey Piatczyc (West Virginia) - MF - Sr - Did not play in West Virginia's 1-0 win over Cal.

Zach Wright (North Carolina) - F - Sr - Started and had an assist in UNC's 4-2 win over Providence. Started and had two assists in UNC's 6-1 win over Rutgers.
