Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Besler Continues to Move Up Lists

Unfortunately it wasn’t a great weekend for Kansas City’s soccer teams as none of the three were able to pick up a win. Sporting Kansas City and FC Kansas City both got draws. For Sporting that draw kept them in fourth place in the Western Conference to close out the weekend while FCKC’s draw saw them officially eliminated from the playoffs in the NWSL, the second straight year the Blues will miss the playoffs. The Swope Park Rangers were the only team of the three to lose this weekend, dropping a 2-1 result on the road to Orange County SC. Here are some stats and milestones from this weekend’s games.

Sporting Kansas City

In the 18th minute, Matt Besler moved ahead of Davy Arnaud and into 3rd place for league minutes played for KC, he finished the game with 19,472 minutes played.

Besler's assist was his 15th in league play for KC, tying him with Claudio Lopez and Chris Henderson for 18th all time on that list.

It was Besler's 16th in all competitions, giving him sole possession of 20th place on that list.

In the 37th minute, Benny Feilhaber moved ahead of Michael Harrington and into 13th place for league minutes played for KC, Feilhaber finished the game with 11,686 minutes played.

Feilhaber made his 145th league appearance for KC, breaking his tie with Matt McKeon and Josh Wolff for 15th all time on that list.

Feilhaber made his 157th start in all competitions, tying him with Mo Johnston for 13th all time on that list.

Swope Park Rangers

Kharlton Belmar scored his 10th goal of the season, a new single season league record for Swope Park.

Belmar's goal was his 10th in all competitions for Swope, tying him with Kris Tyrpak for 2nd all time on that list.

Belmar made his 24th league appearance, tying him with Adrian Zendejas and Tomas Granitto for 11th all time on that list.

Christian Duke recorded his 6th league assist for Swope Park, tying him with Mark Anthony Gonzalez for 3rd all time on that list.
