Shades of Blue Soccer Show: The Curious Case of Croizet

A fresh new pod to get you ready for Sporting KC’s Decision Day in MLS.

MLS: Sporting KC at FC Dallas Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

It has been a while but Sporting Kansas City is on top of the West and that calls for a new podcast. They could finish on top, or slide all the way to fourth on Sunday. But one thing is for sure, it is going to be a wild ride.

Cody, Aly, Bob, & Thad discussed last weekend’s big win over FC Dallas, as well as Matt Besler’s spicy reaction to it. We also ponder if Johnny Russell has taken over penalty kick taking duties from Ilie.

Updated salaries have been released and we find that Russell got quite the bump. Andreu Fontas is making a cool million bucks as well. Is that too high for backup? Or is it smart for an MLS team to have three solid CB’s with the Champion’s League coming?

Yohan Croizet has been a wild ride to follow this season. But the gang feels as though he has done more than enough show that he is a part of this team and very useful to Peter Vermes. Matthew Doyle called his DP contract “bonkers” but there are seven players on the roster who make more than that “DP”.

Let us know what you think. Where do you stand with Croizet right now?

We move on to preview Decision Day in MLS this weekend. The boys will keep the top spot with a draw, but can fall all the way behind Seattle in the worst case scenario. There are also other tasty battles going on around the league to keep an eye on.

Los Angeles Football Club is coming to town for the season finale and another absolutely massive game at Children’s Mercy Park. We look at the battle in the midfield and a less-than-perfect defense from LA.
