The Kansas City Comets return home looking to complete a sweep of the St Louis Ambush tonight at 7:35. This is the fourth and final meeting between these cross-state rivals for the season.
The Comets are looking a for win against St. Louis to keep their playoff hopes alive and nobody wants the shame of losing to the Ambush.
Tonight is the Comets 8th Annual Pink Game to benefit The Ali Kemp Educational (TAKE) Foundation. Special pink jerseys with the TAKE Foundation logo on it will be worn by the team and fans can bid on them in a silent auction.
The two teams just met on February 3rd when the Comets won 7-6. Kansas City got out to a 5-2 lead going into the fourth quarter. The Ambush battled back and tied it up at the 12:58 mark. Leo Gibson put a dagger into the Ambush hopes when he scored his fourth goal of the game just 11 seconds later.
The Ambush have been eliminated from post-season possibilities. The Comets are trying to make up a 2 ½ game deficit with a game in hand on Cedar Rapids so they can use as much support as possible.
