Sporting KC

  • While Twitter and the Cauldron Facebook page might have been dumpster fires, Peter Vermes won’t panic after Sporting KC held scoreless in season opener (MLSSoccer.com)
  • Now I don’t see how it is possible someone in their right mind could think Salloi was NOT fouled for a PK, but Andrew Weibe isn’t really in his right mind. (INSTANT REPLAY)
  • Vermes likes the term “Re-tooling” as opposed to a roster overhaul. (SportingKC.com)
  • The club has extended it’s contract with 810 Sports Radio through 2020. (SportingKC.com)
  • Academy kid Osvaldo Cisneros has been named to the United States U-15 Boys National Team. (SportingKC.com)
  • The Swope Park Rangers have one more pre-season tune up before opening the season in Reno on March 17th.

MLS

  • As has been the case for years now, Zlatan to MLS rumors are returning. “I did not know that several Swedes went to MLS,” Ibrahimovic told Swedish reporters recently, as quoted by The Telegraph. “That means it’s tempting to play in the United States. (MLSSocer.com)
  • The city of Columbus is suing MLS and Precourt Sports Ventures to keep the Columbus Crew SC from relocating to Austin. (ESPN)
  • If you were wondering what was with Villa’s jersey during the walk out on Sunday, it was a tribute to a mentor of his that passed away.
