There have been a number of reports from Turkey that Sporting Kansas City had made an offer on Spanish striker Álvaro Negredo. It was even reported that Beşiktaş had accepted the offer but according to Sporting KC manager Peter Vermes that is not true.

The Blue Testament asked Vermes during media availability Monday about the upcoming transfer window and Negredo.

Q: With the summer window coming up is there any movement?

Vermes: “Not yet, just still working on some things.”

Q: There are reports that Sporting KC has made an offer on Alvaro Negredo.

Vermes: “No. Not true.”

Negredo is 32 and will turn 33 in August, not the typical player that Sporting KC tends to go for and would have likely been a short term deal for a player that appears to be on the decline in performance. Negredo probably could still do well scoring-wise in MLS but not sure if he fits the model of center forward that SKC is looking to sign.
