Sporting Kansas City is reportedly bringing in US youth international and former Manchester United youth player, Will Vint on trial. The 16 year old Vint only recently signed on as a first year scholar this summer with the English Premier League club after playing with their U16 team last year, including captaining that side. Visa issues in England though mean that Vint couldn’t stay with the club, even after spending time with the club’s U18 and U23 teams during their preseason tour of Austria.

With England not allowed at this point, Vint has turned back to the United States and is set to trial with three MLS teams, Kansas City, Atlanta United, and the Philadelphia Union. Both Kansas City and Philadelphia have shown a penchant this season of player younger players with the likes of Jaylin Lindsey, Wan Kuzain Wan Kamal, Gianluca Busio, Aaron Trusty, and Mark McKenzie all getting minutes this year. While Atlanta hasn’t gotten homegrown players like Andrew Charlton as much time, they’ll still be a favorite to land Vint because of their visibility within the league and having a coach like Tata Martino.

Vint is a midfielder who had previously played with Real Colorado and trialed with Fulham and Everton previously as well.

Update 8/16/18: Our own Thad Bell went to practice and asked Peter Vermes about Mr. Vint and he indicated he knows nothing of it. It could be he’s being coy but of all the people, you’d think he’d know.
