New, 9 comments

The roster freeze has passed so this is the final roster as the playoffs approach.

MLS: Columbus Crew at Sporting KC Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

The MLS roster freeze date came and went last Friday on September 14th. Sporting Kansas City and all the other Major League Soccer clubs, will have to stand pat with their current rosters for the rest of the 2018 season, including the postseason. As expected, Sporting KC made no moves.

Here is the roster as it will appear until the season ends.

Some final observations:

  • 28 of the 30 available slots have been used.
  • Sporting KC used all seven available international slots (they traded their eighth to Colorado earlier in the year — The Rapids obviously wasted it.)
  • SKC have just four Homegrown players (Busio, Kuzain, Salloi and Lindsey)
  • Only Seth Sinovic is known to be out of contract and without option years after 2018 (Khiry Shelton’s status is unknown despite our attempts to get clarification from the team).
  • Nine players have options years for 2019 (Rubio, Zendejas, Storm, Didic, Lobato, Belmar, Dick, Smith and Evans).
