The Kansas City Comets are set to take on the unbeaten Milwaukee Wave on Friday, January 11, at 7:05 PM CT from UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena.
The Comets(3-4) will look to extend their win streak to three while the Wave(6-0) enter the match as the heavy favorite and have not lost to the Comets for the last two seasons.
This matchup will feature two of MASL’s finest forwards in Leo Gibson of the Comets and Ian Bennett of the Wave. They are both level on goals with 10 but Gibson has the edge on assists with a league-leading 12.
The last meeting between these two teams came back in December when the Wave spoiled KC’s home opener by winning 10-8 in a physical affair. Ian Bennett was the difference with four goals and an assist.
Kim Rontved’s Comets are coming off of a very solid performance against the Florida Tropics, where they exited with the 7-2 victory. The Wave enter the match after a 7-4 win away to a very strong Utica City side.
A win for the Comets would put them to a .500 record and be immense in their chase for the playoffs as second in the South Central Division. A win for the Wave would further staple their name into the first place position in the South Central Division.
The match will be streamed live on MASL’s official YouTube channel, MASLtv at 7 PM CT on Friday.
