Comets January Stats

Stats from the Comets January schedule.

After a rough start to the 2018-2019 season, the Comets started to turn things around in the month of January, going 4-1 in the month and moving up into second place in the South Central Division of the MASL’s Eastern Conference. Over the month, a number of players hit career milestones with the team, here are stats and milestones from the month of January.

The game on 1/11 against Milwaukee was Kim Rontved’s 100th game in charge of the Comets in league play.

The game on 1/11 was also Rontved’s 50th win in all competitions for the Comets.

Leo Gibson’s first goal on 1/11 against Milwaukee was his 200th league goal for the Comets, he’s the first player to hit that mark.

With his second goal against Florida on 1/6, Bryan Perez moved ahead of Brian Harris and into 6th place for points earned in all competitions for the Comets in his career (MPS and single point scoring). Perez finished the game with 184 points.

Perez’s second goal was his 100th in all competitions for the Comets, he’s the 5th player to hit that mark.

On 1/20, John Sosa made his 138th appearance in league for the Comets, tying him with Stefan Stokic for 5th all time on that list.

On 1/27, Sosa and Stokic both made their 139th league appearance for the Comets, tying them both Brian Harris for 4th all time on that list.

Ignacio Flores’ goal on 1/6 was his 29th in all competitions for the Comets, breaking his tie with Andre Braithwaite for 13th all time on that list.

Flores’ goal and assist on 1/6 gave him 55 points for his career in league play for the Comets, tying him with Stefan Stokic for 12th all time on that list.

On 1/6, Flores made his 49th league appearance for the Comets, breaking his tie with Ryan Junge for 16th all time on that list.

Flores made his 52nd appearance in all competitions on that date as well, tying him with Braithwaite for 17th all time on that list. On 1/11 he made his 53rd appearance in all competitions, breaking his tie with Braithwaite.

On 1/11 Flores made his 50th league appearance for the Comets, he’s the 16th player to play 50 games for the club.

On 1/20, Flores made his 55th appearance in all competitions for the Comets, tying him with Ryan Junge for 16th all time on that list. On 1/27 he made his 56th appearance, breaking his tie with Junge for 16th all time.

Kiel Williams’ 2 assists vs Florida on 1/6 gave him 15 all time in league play, tying him with Max Touloute and Junge for 16th all time on that list.

His 2 assists in that game gave him 16 all time in all competitions, tying him with Danny Waltman for 17th all time on that list.

Williams’ goal on 1/18 against St. Louis was his 24th league goal for the Comets, tying him with Milan Ivanovic for 15th all time on that list.

It was Williams’ 26th goal in all competitions for the Comets, tying him with Ivanovic for 15th on that list as well.

Williams’ first goal on 1/20 gave him 25 in league play, breaking his tie with Ivanovic for 15th all time on that list.

His two goals in the game gave him 28 in all competitions, breaking his tie with Ivanovic for 15th on that list and moving him into a tie with Andre Braithwaite for 14th all time on that list.

Alain Matingou’s goal against the Wave on 1/11 was the 100th goal the Comets have scored in league play in Milwaukee.

Stefan Stokic’s assist on 1/11 against Milwaukee was his 25th in all competitions for the Comets, tying him with Geison for 11th on that list.

Robert Palmer’s assist on 1/20 against Utica was his 25th in league play for the Comets, tying him with Stokic for 10th all time on that list.

It was Palmer’s 29th assist in all competitions, tying him with Flores for 9th all time on that list.

On 1/20, Ramone Palmer made his 99th league appearance for the Comets, tying him with Danny Waltman for 8th all time on that list.

On 1/27, Palmer made his 100th league appearance for the Comets, breaking his tie with Waltman for 8th all time on that list. He became the 8th player to play 100 games for the Comets.

On 1/27, Palmer’s goal was his 56th in league play for the Comets, tying him with John Sosa for 7th all time on that list.

Anthony Grant’s goal on 1/27 gave him 24 league goals for the Comets, tying him with Ivanovic for 16th all time on that list.
