On Campus: Solorio Goal Helps Niagara to 2-0 Conference Start

An update on Sporting academy players in college.

The conference college soccer season continues for Sporting Kansas City academy players and up in New York, Absalom Solorio scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot for Niagara’s 2-0 win over Monmouth. The win moved Niagara to 4-6 on the season overall and 2-0 in the MAAC. Here’s the rest of this week’s update.

Class of 2015

Bryce Gibson (Creighton) - D - RSr - Started Creighton’s 1-0 loss to Seton Hall.

Class of 2016

Ryan Kellogg (West Virginia) - D - Sr - Did not play in West Virginia’s 4-1 loss to San Diego.

John Leisman (Yale) - F - Sr - Started both Yale’s 4-0 win over Central Conn. State and 3-1 win over Harvard, recording an assist in the second game.

Logan Lucas (West Virginia) - D - Sr - Started West Virginia’s 4-1 loss to San Diego.

Andrew McLeod (Northwestern) - D - Sr - Started both Northwestern’s 3-1 loss to Indiana and 3-0 loss to Michigan.

Absalom Solorio (Niagara) - MF - Sr - Started both Niagara’s 1-0 win over Marist and 2-0 win over Monmouth, scoring a goal in the second game.

Class of 2017

Christian Albelo (Marquette) - D - RSo - Came on as a substitute in Marquette’s 6-2 loss to Saint Louis. Started Marquette’s 4-0 loss to St. John’s.

Chase Bromstedt (Tulsa) - MF - Jr - Game this week was canceled.

Joe Corner (Gonzaga) - MF - Jr - No game this week.

Leroy Enzugusi (Drake) - F - Jr - Started Drake’s 1-0 loss to Bradley.

Alex Kaddah (Denver) - MF - RSo - Came on as a substitute in Denver’s 3-2 loss to Pitt. Did not play in Denver’s 2-1 win over Pacific.

Steven Tekesky (West Virginia) - GK - Jr - Started West Virginia’s 4-1 loss to San Diego.

Patrick Wilkinson (Saint Louis) - D/M - Jr - Did not play in Saint Louis’ 6-2 win over Marquette. Started Saint Louis’ 2-0 win over UMass.

Class of 2018

Grayson Barber (Clemson) - F - So - Started both Clemson’s 3-0 win over Charleston and 0-0 draw with Virginia Tech, recording an assist in the first game.

Alex Brown (Lipscomb) - GK - RFr - Started Lipscomb’s 3-2 loss to Florida Gulf Coast.

Colin Innes (Kentucky) - MF - RFr - Came on as a substitute in Kentucky’s 1-0 win over East Tennessee State.

Connor Jordan-Hyde (Virginia Tech) - GK - So - Did not play in either of Virginia Tech’s games.

Gabe Kash (Marquette) - D - RFr - Came on as a substitute in Marquette’s 6-2 loss to Saint Louis. Started Marquette’s 4-0 loss to St. John’s.

Roman Knox (North Carolina) - MF - RFr - Did not play in either of UNC’s games.

Dawson Lee (Missouri State) - F - So - Started both Missouri State’s 1-0 win over Omaha and their 4-0 win over Evansville.

Isaac McGinnis (Penn) - MF - So - Did not play in Penn’s 3-2 win over Cornell.

Reagan Mugume-Rice (Cal Poly) - F - So - Did not play in either of Cal Poly’s games.

Mason Visconti (Kentucky) - F - So - Came on as a substitute in Kentucky’s 1-0 win over East Tennessee State.

Alec Wons (Marquette) - GK - RFr - Did not play in either of Marquette’s games.

Mohammad Abualnadi (Notre Dame) - D - Fr - Started both Notre Dame’s 1-0 win over DePaul and 2-0 loss to NC State.

Sebastian Cruz (Cal State Fullerton) - M - Fr - Started both Fullerton’s 1-0 loss to James Madison and 2-0 loss to Maryland.

Ryan Fessler (Wake Forest) - MF - Fr - Did not play in Wake’s 2-1 loss to Boston College.

Dontell Gilyard (UMKC) - D - Fr - Started both UMKC’s 6-0 loss to San Diego State and 4-1 loss to Seattle.

Johnny Hansen (Gonzaga) - D - Fr - No game this week.

Sean Karani (Temple) - F - Fr - Started both Temple’s 1-0 win over Old Dominion and 1-1 draw with Cincinnati.

Karson Kendall (High Point) - D - Fr - Did not play in High Point’s 4-3 win over UNC Asheville. Started High Point’s 1-0 win over UNC Greensboro.

Sebastian Kennedy (Barton County) - MF - Fr - Started and scored a goal in Barton’s 16-0 win over Hesston College.

Massimo McGuire (Baker) - D - Fr - Started Baker’s 1-0 loss to Grand View.
