Sporting KC II announces roster moves for 2020

The team formerly known as Swope Park Rangers revealed who is currently on the roster for 2020

Sporting Kansas City II revealed their end-of-year roster moves in preparation for the 2020 USL Championship season. Sporting KC’s minor league affiliate will return seven total players.

The contract option was exercised on midfielder Camden Riley to bring him back for a second year. Riley was the only one of Sporitng KC’s 2019 draft picks to stick with the club.

Six players remain under contract: goalkeepers John Pulskamp and Brooks Thompson, defender Luis Olivera, midfielder Will Little and forwards Wilson Harris and Ze Pedro. Options were declined on defenders Rennico Clarke and Mark Segbers, as well as midfielder Camilo Benitez and forwards Killian Colombie and Tucker Stephenson.

Four players are now out of contract: midfielders Rassambek Akhmatov and Ayyoub Allach and forwards William Opoku Mensah and Ethan Vanacore-Decker. The loans of defender Alexsander and forward Jerome Ngom Mbekeli have also expired.

Two Sporting KC Academy players featured for the team in the first part of the season but have joined their respective college teams. Both Mo Abualnadi (Notre Dame) and Sean Karani (Temple) played for their colleges in the fall.

Several Swope Park Rangers Sporting KC II players were on Academy contracts. Josh Chong, Jake Davis, Dylan Hooper, Gavin Krenecki, Tucker Lepley, Jahon Rad, Kaveh Rad and Max Trejo are still with the Sporting KC Academy and may appear again in 2020.
