Just because Sporting Kansas City is well into the off-season doesn’t mean that everyone on the team is taking a break from soccer. Botand Barath and Nicolas Hasler have both recently been called up for their respective national teams.

Barath will be joining up with the Hungarian Men’s National Team for a couple of matches in November. First up will be a friendly against Uruguay on Friday, November 15th in Budapest. Following that, Hungary will get set for their final UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying match against Wales. That match will take place on Tuesday, November 19th in Wales.

Hungary are currently in second place in Group E of Euro 2020 qualifying and sit two points above third place Slovakia. Croatia is currently on the top of the group. Wales sits in fourth and Azerbaijan are fifth. The top two finishers in the group will advance to the UEFA European Championship next summer.

Also getting a national team call up for November was Nico Hasler. Hasler will be joining the Liechtenstein Men’s National Team for the team’s last two qualifiers in Group J of Euro 2020. Liechtenstein will face off against Finland in Helsinki on Friday, November 15th and will then host Bosnia and Herzegovina on Monday, November 18th. As the last place team in Group J, Liechtenstein has already been eliminated from qualifying for UEFA Euro 2020.

Interestingly, Krisztian Nemeth and Johnny Russell were not called up for international duty. Both Nemeth and Russell had recently been regularly called up for a spot with Hungary and Scotland.
