The Kansas City Comets are set to host the Florida Tropics on Saturday.
The Tropics will come to Silverstein Eyes Centers Arena for the second time this season, following a 7-2 loss on January 6.
The Comets(6-5) have won five of their last six matches and have a chance to continue this great run with a win this Saturday.
Kim Rontved’s team enter Saturday afternoon’s game led by veteran forward Leo Gibson, who has racked up 33 points off of 15 goals and 18 assists.
The Tropics(4-7) are coming off a big win over the St. Louis Ambush with help from newly traded forwards Antonio Manfut and former Comet Andre Braithwaite, who will be making his first appearance at Silverstein Eyes Centers Arena as an opponent. Both Manfut and Braithwaite have a combined five goals in the two games since being traded.
The Tropics will be without their leading goal scorer Guilherme Dos Santos along with defender Lucas Montelares, defender Lucas Texeira, forward Enzo Marangoni, and former Comet Max Touloute.
Tropics are also expected to have a new addition, Matt Clare, who was acquired from the Tacoma Stars.
Florida will be faced with a tall task, as they will be looking for two road wins against the Ambush on Friday and the Comets on Saturday, two of the three teams fighting for the last playoff spot in the South Central Division.
Kickoff is set for 1:05 PM CT on Saturday, February 2, from Silverstein Eyes Centers Arena.
