18-year-old Jaylin Lindsey sounds like anything but a kid in front of the camera. The Blue Testament caught up with him after the final preseason game of 2019 against the Houston Dynamo. Lindsey weighed in on that last preseason game, Peter Vermes’ 2019 plan for him and the other young guys and the U-20 World Cup that comes up this May.
The Sporting Kansas City right back talked about a number of other topics but what got him the most animated was that Gianluca Busio, his 16-year-old teammate and roommate, was talking smack about their head-to-head FIFA 19 games.
No matter who is getting the best of who when they face off in FIFA, they are co-managing Derby County in the English Championship. The same club their current teammate, Johnny Russell played for before coming to Sporting KC ahead of the 2018 season.
Both Busio and Lindsey alluded to transferring their likenesses over to Derby but that was a misunderstanding. Lindsey clarified he hasn’t signed himself yet and he’d have to consult Busio, but that Busio can’t get transferred because, “he’s actually not in the game because he’s too young.” Busio is now 16, as is his new teammate Tyler Freeman, who should both make it into FIFA 20 or maybe a future roster update.
