With a real life soccer match to talk about this week, we were excited to get back in the studio. The regular cast of Cody, Aly, Bob, & Thad were together for the first time this year and there was plenty to cover. It’s Season 2 of Shades of Blue!

A hot-button issue this off season has been the idea that Sporting Kansas City and in particular, Peter Vermes, don’t spend money. We used Chad’s article as a starting point and discuss the way the team spends money and the failure to sign a DP striker.

The gang also shares their thoughts and takeaways from preseason action. Did Krisztian Nemeth’s performance give hope he can be the man KC needs him to be?

We finished up with a conversation about the upcoming CONCACAF Champion’s League match with Toluca at Children’s Mercy Park on Thursday night. The big question will be Sporting KC’s fitness and if the quick preseason was enough to get ready for such an important match. We discussed potential lineups and also had some fun with predictions. Spoiler Alert... we’re all optimists.
