The wait is over. Sporting KC soccer has finally returned.

The wait is over. It’s finally here. After their shortest offseason ever—just 83 days between the last match of 2018 and the first match of 2019—Sporting KC are set to return to the field at Children’s Mercy Park on Thursday night as they play host to Liga MX side Deportivo Toluca F.C. in the 2019 Concacaf Champions League.

Can’t make it to CMP to watch in person? As this isn’t a normal MLS league game (and because Concacaf never makes things easy!), the game will not be shown on regular television. But fear not. The Blue Testament has you covered with how treat your #CCLFever.

Sporting KC vs. Toluca F.C.

Time: 7 p.m. CT

Location: Children’s Mercy Park

How to Watch: There is a live stream in English on YahooSports.com and the Yahoo Sports app. The Spanish broadcast is on Univision Deportes.

How to Listen: Sports Radio 810 WHB | ESPN Deportes KC 1480 AM

The Teams

Sporting KC

Preseason: 5-0-1 (Outscored opponents 28-4)

Head Coach: Peter Vermes (11th season)

Recent Form: Sporting KC’s biggest challenge heading into this match is the sheer lack of competitive matches played in 2019. While the team looked more than solid throughout the preseason, they didn’t exactly play top competition taking on the likes of Phoenix Rising FC trialists and FC Tucson trialists. SKC did play one MLS side in their most recent preseason game when they handily defeated the Houston Dynamo 4-1.

Toluca F.C.

Last Five: L-D-L-L-L

Head Coach: Hernán Cristante (4th year)

Recent Form: Historically a very strong side, Toluca qualified for the Champions League by finishing as runners up in the 2018 Liga MX Clausera. However, Toluca has struggled as of late, going winless in their last five games while scoring just a single goal and falling to 14th place in the Liga MX table on a 2-4-1 record. The team has especially struggled on the road, going 1-3-0 away from Estadio Nemesio Díez.
