The Kansas City Comets picked up a big win over the Orlando SeaWolves on Sunday.

The Comets avoided giving up an early goal to put them behind, and instead got a goal from Alain Matingou. After Orlando’s Elmo Neto tied it up, Kevin Ellis opened his MASL scoring account with a header to make it 2-1 Comets after the first period.

Both teams exchanged a goal in the second quarter from John Sosa for Kansas City and Jonathan Mendoza for Orlando, leaving the first half scoreline at 3-2 in favor of Kansas City.

The SeaWolves has no answer in the second half as the Comets scored three times in each quarter. Sosa, Matingou, and Anthony Grant all added in the third quarter while Ellis, Leo Gibson, and Grant produced the finishing touches in the final period.

The Comets had four multi-goal performances from Alain Matingou, Kevin Ellis, Anthony Grant, and John Sosa, who also had two assists. Brett Petricek was also big on multiple occasions with several terrific saves.

The Comets returned to above .500 with an 8-7 record and now sit second in the South Central Division. The SeaWolves are third in the same division with a 6-6 record with three more meetings with the Comets.
