The Kansas City Comets are headed down I-70 for the final time this season on Saturday for a match with the St. Louis Ambush.
The Comets enter the match in second in second place in the South Central division with a 7-5 record and have won six of their last seven games following a winning goal from Leo Gibson with 2.5 seconds left in last week against the Florida Tropics.
The Comets are led by Leo Gibson, who is second in points(34) and assists(18) after 12 games. Goalkeeper Mark Saxby has also stepped up lately with the absence of Brett Petricek with three wins in his three appearances. Lucas Rodriguez is also one goal away from the century mark of goals.
The St. Louis Ambush enter the match with a 7-8 record and sit third in the South Central Division. The Ambush are coming off a weekend where they went 1-1 with a win against the Tropics and a loss to the SeaWolves a day later.
The Ambush are led by player-manager Hewerton Moreira and former Comet forward, Stefan St. Louis, but announced earlier this week that forward Jerjer Gibson is out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery for an injury picked up more than a month ago. Zach Reget and Justin Stinson have combined to be St. Louis’ breakout players this season, combing for 26 goals and 11 assists combined.
The match can be live streamed on Saturday, February 9, from The Family Arena starting at 7:05 PM CT on Masl.tv.
