Shades of Blue Soccer Show: What’s the problem?

The intro music was all too real this week. Cody, Aly, Robert, & Thad were in the studio drinking the pain away and discussing all things Sporting Kansas City on Wednesday night. There was a reluctant talk about the 4-1 loss to the San Jose Earthquakes and what the root of the problem may be. Plus a look ahead to Saturday’s match with the New England Revolution.

After the San Jose match, SKC fans were searching for answers. As well as somewhere to place blame. The crew shares their thoughts on the situation and we try to decide if there really is a larger problem to solve, or if this is just a bad stretch of matches like all teams have throughout a season.

That last game was a gut punch. But with a growing injury report, is more trouble on the way? We run through all the injuries and examine how Peter Vermes will deal without the likes of Roger Espinoza & Matt Besler.

Sporting have a very big stretch coming up, with a lot of home games and a chance to get back to the top of the table. The first opportunity to turn things around is on Saturday as the Revolution come to town. Vermes will have some decisions to make about this lineup. Does Graham Smith get another first-team chance? With Busio departing for youth national team duty, how long will he play? Is Kelyn Rowe ready to step up? There are so many questions, and we speculate wildly.
