MLS: Chicago Fire at Sporting Kansas City Peter G. Aiken

Sporting Kansas City picked up their third clean sheet of the season in their 1-0 win over the Chicago Fire. Sunday, the Swope Park Rangers weren’t able to capitalize on the momentum of their win last week against St. Louis, falling 3-1 at home to the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Here are the stats and milestones for the games this weekend.

Sporting Kansas City

The win was Kansas City’s 200th home win in league play in the club’s history.

In the 14th minute, Graham Zusi passed Kerry Zavagnin and moved into 2nd all time for league minutes played for Kansas City, he finished the game with 20,591 minutes played.

In the 83rd minute, Zusi hit the 25,000 minute mark for minutes played in all competitions for KC, he’s the 3rd player to hit that mark, he finished the game with 25,007 minutes played.

Zusi made his 224th league start for KC, tying him with Nick Garcia for 3rd all time on that list.

Seth Sinovic made his 204th league appearance for KC, tying him with Jimmy Conrad for 8th all time on that list.

Felipe Gutierrez made his 50th appearance in all competitions, he’s the 76th player to reach that mark.

Tim Melia made his 156th league appearance, tying him with Tony Meola for 19th all time on that list. It ties him for the most appearances in all competitions by a KC goalkeeper.

It was Melia’s 156th start in all competitions, tying him with Meola for 15th all time on that list.

Melia earned his 57th league win for KC, tying him with Jimmy Nielsen for the most by a KC goalkeeper.

The shutout was Melia’s 50th in all competitions for KC, he’s the 2nd player to record 50 shutouts for KC.

Swope Park Rangers

In the 18th minute, Graham Smith moved ahead of Oumar Ballo and into 10th place for minutes played in all competitions for Swope, he finished the game with 3,363 minutes played.

Smith made his 37th start in all competitions, breaking his tie with Oumar Ballo for 10th all time on that list.

Wan Kuzain made his 38th league start, tying him with Parker Maher for 8th all time on that list.

Kuzain made his 46th appearance in all competitions, breaking his tie with Ballo for 11th all time on that list.

Ethan Vanacore-Decker’s goal was his 4th league goal, tying him with Christian Duke for 14th all time on that list.

It was his 4th goal in all competitions, tying him with Duke and Wan Kuzain for 15th all time on that list.

Will Little made his 26th league appearance for Swope, tying him with Wilson Harris, Tommy Meyer, and Bryam Rebellon for 20th all time on that list.
