FIFA 20, the annual release from EA Sports, comes out on September 27, 2019 and the ratings were just released on Monday. Fans across the world are pouring over their team’s ratings. A lot has change for Sporting Kansas City since the FIFA 19 was released. And much like the 2019 season, it’s all pretty bad news.
The largest increase by a player that was on Sporting KC’s roster at the beginning of last year and is still on the team comes via a tie between Johnny Russell and Krisztian Nemeth who climbed two points overall each. The biggest decline, stop me if your shocked, is Andreu Fontas who fell four points overall (and seven since joining SKC).
Of the players on SKC both at the beginning of last year through now only five players saw increase, with a majority of them coming at the bottom of the roster (Graham Smith, Jaylin Lindsey and Adrian Zendejas were the other three).
On the other hand, seven players saw decreases and five others stayed the same.
When looking at the youth of the roster, most of them score pretty low with Daniel Salloi coming in the highest at a 70 for the second straight year. In the potential category, no one shines as brightly as Jaylin Lindsey who could climb from a 62 to an 81. Next in potential comes Gianluca Busio and Salloi who are tied at 79. Then of the young players it drops off pretty sharply to 72 for Gedion Zelalem, Wan Kuzain and new Homegrown signing Cameron Duke.
The only two players not represented are Tyler Freeman and 21-year-old Homegrown signing Felipe Hernandez, who was just added to the roster last week. Freeman is still just 16 so he won’t be added to the game. Despite being with the team for his third season, Busio was just added.
In terms of snubs, a few jump out at me. Busio’s potential seems like it should be higher. Espinoza should probably not have dropped two points below Benny. And Graham Smith, who recently emerged as at least a temporary starter, seems awfully low at 63 overall. Finally, Erik Hurtado is way down at 64 and he appears to be destined to steal Nemeth’s job, potentially permanently.
Below are the full ratings as of this story publishing. FIFA ratings are updated live throughout the year, so expect changes to keep coming.
