Sporting KC’s struggles continued against the LA Galaxy on Sunday night. Jimmy and Dan talk about what’s next for the club as they look toward 2020.

MLS: Sporting Kansas City at LA Galaxy Kelvin Kuo-USA TODAY Sports

Sporting Kansas City just cannot catch a break. After a week of favorable Western Conference results in just about every game before theirs, Sporting KC took the field in LA with a glimmer of hope for the 2019 playoffs.

Felipe Gutierrez scored first, and suddenly all those feelings of “maybe we can pull this off!” came rushing back to SKC fans’ heads.

By the end of the game, those thoughts were long gone.

Sporting KC lost 7-2 in embarrassing fashion to Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the LA Galaxy. Any hopes of postseason play are all but gone. At this point, fans are looking toward the offseason and beyond.

In this episode of No Other Pod, we talk about what went wrong in the game, and what the plan should be for the rest of 2019. Should Peter Vermes play the kids? Who should the club try to keep in the offseason? What position(s) should be priority as the club looks to rebound in 2020?

We also touch on the continued controversy surrounding “political speech” and how the Emerald City Supporters’ mid-game walkout affects things.
