Sporting KC II Add a Pair of Players from Croatia

Sporting Kansas City II made two additions on Wednesday to bring their roster up to 11 players for the 2020 season. The club announced the signings of defender Petar Čuić and forward Dominik Rešetar, on loan from Dinamo Zagreb II. Dinamo Zagreb, the first team, is a powerhouse in Croatian football having won 20 league titles and 15 Croatian football cups.

Čuić is a 6’1” central defender who is just 20-years-old. He started on the U-15 team for Dinamo Zagreb and made his debut in the Croatian second division back in April 2018. Čuić is also has been a member of the Croatian youth national team setup having played for the U-16 and U-19 teams.

Rešetar is a 6’0” center forward who is only 19-years-old. He previously played for Inter Zapresic in the Croatian top flight before joining Dinamo Zagreb II during the 2018-19 season. Rešetar is also a youth international having played for Croatia’s U-19 team.

Since both players are internationals they’ll occupy two of the seven international spots SKC II have access to in the USL Championship. They join fellow internationals Ze Pedro (Portugal), Luis Olivera (Argentina) and Duval Wapiwo (Cameroon).

Sporting KC II have a ways to go to fill out their roster for the 2020 season which starts on Sunday, March 8th at home against the Charlotte Independence. They will likely fill out their roster with quite a few SKC Academy players like they did in 2019, but nothing has been announced just yet. In addition, there will definitely be first team players from Sporting KC loaned down (e.g. Tyler Freeman, Felipe Hernandez, Graham Smith).
