The MASL announced the opening month’s schedule for the 2021 season on Wednesday.
The season will begin on Saturday, January 2, and end no later than April 18 with six of the 11 teams competing in January. Both the Tacoma Stars and San Diego Sockers will be on the road for their opening two matches in January while fellow West-coast team Ontario Fury opted out of the first month entirely along with Baltimore, Rochester, and Utica.
The Comets will be joined by the St. Louis Ambush, Dallas Sidekicks, Florida Tropics, San Diego Sockers, and Tacoma Stars for the opening month of matches.
The Comets will open their season with four games on the road before their home opener against the Tacoma Stars on January 22 and a rare home game against the San Diego Sockers to close out the month.

KC @ Dallas Sidekicks: Saturday, January 2, 2021- 7:00 PM CT
KC @ Florida Tropics: Friday, January 8, 2021- 6:05 PM CT

With the current circumstances surrounding the pandemic, the league plans on announcing schedules on a month-to-month basis. Additionally, MASL’s December update stated that each team will play between 12 and 24 matches to be eligible for the playoffs.
Until then, the Comets will continue their preseason, which includes competing in the inaugural Central Cup preseason tournament that kicks off this weekend as the Comets head to Dallas for a match with the Sidekicks on Saturday.
