The wait is almost over! Sporting Kansas City is in the home stretch of the 2020 preseason, and we’re all counting down the days until the first game of the regular season on Feb. 29 against the Vancouver Whitecaps.
But for now, the team is in Arizona, working on getting match fit and building their chemistry with the new players who joined the club this offseason.
Sporting KC’s Director of Equipment Operations Mike Flaherty, known by many of you as “Kitman,” took time out of his busy schedule to talk to us on this week’s episode. He even ignored calls from Peter Vermes and Kerry Zavagnin mid-recording to keep talking to us. (Yes, that’s actually a real thing!)
We talk with Mike about his journey to SKC, what it’s like to work for the club, how often he argues with Peter about tactics, how frustrated he gets when players give away their jerseys, and so much more.
Of course, we also go over Sporting KC’s preseason performances thus far and give a round-up of the biggest news from around the league.
