Kansas City soccer legends to be featured in Indoor Soccer Zoomathon

The two-day fundraiser will take place on May 5 and May 6.

Legendary American play-by-play commentator JP Dellacamera will join legendary indoor soccer coach Keith Tozer in hosting a two-day Indoor Soccer Zoomathon to raise money for Feeding America and America Scores.

Day one of the event, Tuesday May 5, will start at 1:00 PM CT and include many of the historical figures, which will include Kansas City Wizards legend Preki as well as Sporting KC assistant coach Zoran Savic and Kansas City Comets legend Kim Roentved. Other notable names include Dr. Joe Machnik (Fox Soccer rules expert), Guy Newman (former KC Wizards assistant coach and son of Ron Newman), and Tim and Terry Leiweke (former Comets executives).

Day two of the event, Wednesday May 6, will start at 1:00 PM CT and include more modern figures with legends, players, commissioners, referees, coaches, and announcers, which will include former FCKC/ KC Comets head coach and current U.S Women’s National team head coach Vlatko Andonovski as well as Comets play-by-play commentator Nick Vasos and Comets head coach and leading scorer Leo Gibson. Other notable names include MLS legend Landon Donovan (played 10 total games for San Diego Sockers in 2019), Brian Schmetzer (Seattle Sounders head coach), Mark Pulisic (father of Christian Pulisic), and Danny Waltman (former Comets goalkeeper).

Both days are free to watch, but registration is required prior to the event.

JP Dellacamera joined Brian Dunseth and Tony Meola on The Counter Attack Monday afternoon on Sirius XM FC to provide a small preview for the fundraiser.
