Sporting Kansas City Academy standout Isaiah LeFlore is the latest player to sign an academy contract with the club’s USL team.

The winger/defender joins other former Academy standouts Josh Chong, Ryan Fessler, Mason Leeth, and Jahon Rad as well as Jake Davis and the short-lived SKC Academy career of Bailey Sparks.

Before joining the SKC Academy, LeFlore was with Minnesota Development Academy side Shattuck-St. Mary’s until his 2016 departure for AD Oeiras in Portugal, where he spent the last three years until coming to the SKC Academy this past winter.

With the SKC Academy LeFlore spent time with the U-19 team and scored a goal to secure a 2-0 victory over FC Dallas in February. LeFlore has also represented the United States U-15 National Team.

The 17 year old joins Paulo Nagamura’s squad as the 23rd player, and is 19 days older than Bailey Sparks, making LeFlore the second youngest SKC II player on the roster. LeFlore does have a little experience already with SKC II, as he made a substitute appearance in a preseason friendly against the OKC Energy.

LeFlore could see his first minutes with SKC II within the next week, as they visit Louisville for a couple matches on Saturday and Wednesday.
