Sporting Kansas City Manager and Sporting Director Peter Vermes revealed in his weekly presser on Thursday that they had a positive COVID-19 test in the organization.
“We’ve done probably now over 1000 tests. We have an unconfirmed positive test,” Vermes told media members on Thursday.
“The protocol suggests that you have to then go test them again. And one of the things that we actually went with on is that we think feel that it’s important that when you do the next test, you actually do it with another different lab, so that it’s completely separate,” Vermes added.
At that time, the results from the additional test with a different facility had not been received. The club confirmed today that the additional test result was in and it was negative.
The player (or staff) was back in training.
