Juan Pablo Anor, more commonly known as Juanpi, has been made an offer from Sporting Kansas City according to El Futbolero and COPE. Jaunpi is a 26-yer-old Venezuelan attacking midfielder that would appear to be available on a free transfer or very cheap.
Málaga CF in the Segunda (second division of Spain) is having desperate financial issues and releasing players to get them off their payroll amid reports they could release their starting XI to save money.
Jaunpi already has a connection to Sporting Kansas City. His brother Bernardo Anor played with Sporting KC in 2015 before getting hurt and then being loaned to pre-MLS Minnesota United.
Malaga was in the first division from 2008 until 2018 when they were relegated and almost made it back in 2019 but lost in the playoffs. Since then, financial issues have plagued the team.
Left-footed Juanpi appears to be a good dribbler and passer with a reasonably good shot.
With Felipe Gutierrez out for the season, Roger Espinoza in day-to-day status for a couple weeks, he could be an interesting replacement for the understaffed Sporting KC midfield.
While the midfield has been primarily staffed by youth for SKC recently, this would seem more like an opportunistic move than one of desperation to fill a spot. Much like how SKC picked up Felipe Gutierrez when he suddenly became available.
