Across State Lines: Hearts Pass on Songo’o After Trial

One time Sporting Kansas City midfielder, Yann Songo’o is looking for a new club after having spent the last few years in the English lower divisions with Plymouth Argyle and Scunthorpe. The French native, who spent most of his time with KC on loan to USL affiliate, Orlando City, had spent the last few weeks on trial with Hearts of the Scottish Championship. Songo’o appeared in two preseason matches for the club, but it was made known earlier today that Hearts had passed on signing Songo’o for the 2020-2021 season.

Elsewhere in Europe, many of the top leagues in Europe who have started their season were on break this week as UEFA kicked off international play again with the Nations League. Only one former Kansas City player was among players representing their country this week as Nicolas Hasler, who is currently without a club, started and score a goal for Lichtenstein as they topped San Marino 2-0 to take first place in their group in League D.
