MVP - Shades of Blue

S4:E27 - Daniel Salloi in the MVP discussion, a leaky Sporting KC defense, and the difference between Pulido & Shelton.

MLS: Houston Dynamo at Sporting Kansas City Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

We’re joined this week by a TBT veteran, Ben Gartland!

Who doesn’t love a good MVP discussion? As Daniel Salloi continues to score goals and impress every week, it’s getting harder to leave him out. It’s time to look around the league at the other contenders and decide if the SKC Homegrown really does belong in the conversation Major League Soccer’s Most Valuable Player.

Can Carlos Gil really win an MVP while leading the league in missed chances?

In the past, a 4-2 win over the Houston Dynamo would have been a time to celebrate. So why didn’t this win get us excited? We talk about the Sporting KC defense and wonder if this team can win a trophy with so many leaks.

Alan Pulido is still working his way back from injury. SKC has been winning with Khiry Shelton, a very different kind of player. What makes each of them good at what they do?

In the postgame we talk about Gianluca Busio and the impending World Cup Qualifiers for the USMNT.

Thanks to Ben for coming on the show! @BenG_Sports. He’ll be back soon.
