Things didn’t go well in Sporting KC’s first trip to Austin to play Austin FC on the road, but here are the stats and milestones from last night’s game.

Johnny Russell scored his 40th league goal, breaking his tie with Chris Klein for 5th all time on that list.

Russell scored his 42nd goal in all competitions for KC, breaking his tie with Kei Kamara for 6th all time on that list.

Russell scored his 11th goal away from home in league play for KC, tying him with Kamara, Teal Bunbury, and Benny Feilhaber for 9th all time on that list.

It was Russell’s 13th away from home in all competitions, tying him with Bunbury, Feilhaber, Felipe Gutierrez, and Daniel Salloi for 7th all time on that list.

Russell and Daniel Salloi have now combined for 31 goals this season, tied for the most in a single season by two players in club history (Preki and Digital Takawira in 1996).

Tim Melia made his 204th appearance in MLS competitions, tying him with Jack Jewsbury for 11th all time on that list.

In the 74th minute, Ilie Sanchez passed Matt McKeon and moved into 14th place all time on the list of minutes played in all competitions for KC, he finished the game with 14,619 minutes played.

Sanchez made his 152nd appearance in MLS competitions, breaking his tie with Josh Wolff for 18th all time on that list.

Sanhcez made his 159th start in all competitions, tying him with McKeon for 14th all time on that list.

Luis Martins made his 50th league start for KC, he’s the 58th player to reach that mark.

Andreu Fontas made his 50th appearance in MLS competitions, he’s the 77th player to reach that mark.

It was his 50th appearance in league play as well, he’s the 71st player to reach that mark.
