Across State Lines: Sapong Signs with Nashville

The 2021 MLS season is coming, and another former Sporting Kanas City player will have a new club in 2021. The 2011 Rookie of the Year, CJ Sapong, is joining Nashville SC for their second MLS season this year. Sapong signed a two year deal with Nashville with an option for a third as a free agent. Nashville becomes Sapong’s fourth MLS team after stints with Sporting, the Philadelphia Union, and Chicago Fire.

In other news this week on a former first round pick, Yura Movsisyan has called it a career. The former KC Wizard, Real Salt Lake, and Chicago Fire player has retired as a player and has been named the North American ambassador for the Football Federation of Armenia. Movsisyan made 142 appearances and scored 36 goals in MLS over two stretches in the league. He also spent time in Denmark, Russia, and Sweden. Movsisyan also made 38 appearances and scored 14 goals for Armenia while representing his country.
