Amy Rodiguez is back in Kansas City and took time out last week to chat about being back, the new Kansas City NWSL team and more.

A-Rod helped lead FC Kansas City to back-to-back NWSL titles in 2014 and 2015 and after missing the 2016 season to give birth to her second son, she was looking forward to doing it again in 2017. After scoring in the season opener for FC Kansas City, she went down in the second half with a torn ACL.

Rodriguez missed the rest of the season but worked hard to return to Kansas City Unfortunately for both A-Rod and FC Kansas City’s fans, ownership issues forced the franchise to cease operations. The assets, including player rights, were moved to the new expansion side in Utah.

Fast forward three years and this time Utah shut down and the assets moved to new ownership in Kansas City. Amy speaks about being back in Kansas City, whether she thought about retiring instead of moving again and expectations with Kansas City after the team underachieved in Utah.
