Pulido Called Up By Mexican National Team

Mexican national team announces roster for two March friendlies.

Colorado Rapids v Sporting Kansas City

As Sporting Kansas City continues their preparations for the 2021 MLS season in Arizona, they will have to manage part of it without Designated Player, Alan Pulido. The Mexican national team announced their roster for friendlies at the end of March, and Sporting’s Pulido was named to the roster.

The Mexican team will play Wales on March 27th at Cardiff City Stadium in the first of two friendlies. They will then travel to Austria and play Costa Rica at Stadion Wiener Neustadt in Austria on the 30th.

Assuming Pulido goes, upon his return he would need to quarantine for at least seven days, at most 10. With MLS players getting regularly tested, according to the CDC they recommend seven days of self-quarantine if you get tested 3-5 days after you return. Assuming Pulido departs for the US on the 31st of March or April 1st at the latest, he would miss Sporting’s final preseason game on April 3rd against the LA Galaxy. Pulido though would be cleared to return to training with Sporting a week to a week and a half ahead of the team’s MLS opener against the New York Red Bulls on April 17th.
