Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Major Milestones for Gibson and Sosa

Stats and milestones from the Comets’ weekend games.

The Kansas City Comets split their weekend games against the Tacoma Stars and Ontario Fury. While on Saturday their comeback fell just short, losing 6-5, on Sunday they made it all the way back defeating the Fury 7-6 after trailing 5-1 at the half. Here are the stats and milestones from the two games.

March 6th

John Sosa’s first assist was his 250th goal/assist in all competitions for the Comets, he’s the 3rd player to reach that mark.

Mike DaSilva’s goal was the 1,800th in all competitions for the Comets.

Ramone Palmer’s assist was his 127th goal/assist in all competitions for the Comets, breaking his tie with Brian Harris for 7th all time on that list.

As the goalkeeper of record when the winning goal was scored, Leo Gibson suffered his first loss in goal as a member of the Comets, the first sixth attacker to suffer the loss since John Sosa in the 2016/2017 season.

March 7th

Leo Gibson’s goal and 3 assists gave him 500 goals/assists in league play for the Comets, he’s the first player to reach that mark.

Gibson’s first assist was his 250th in all competitions for the Comets, he’s the first player to reach that mark.

Palmer’s assist was his 48th in league play for the Comets, tying him with Byron Alvarez for 6th all time on that list.

Palmer’s goal and assist gave him 116 goals/assists in league play for the Comets, moving him ahead of Harris and into 7th place all time on that list.
