It was the start of a new era on Friday night as Kansas City NWSL kicked off their first season in Portland as part of the NWSL Challenge Cup. Things didn’t go KC’s way as they fell 2-1 to the Portland Thorns in their first ever game.

With this being the team’s first season, stats may be limited for now. I have though taken the time to update the FC Kansas City stats to create a KC NWSL history that I will update as well to maybe give a few more stats for the women in their first season. Here are the stats and milestones from KC’s game.

Amy Rodriguez scored the first goal in KCNWSL history.

Rodriguez made her 39th appearance in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, tying her with Mandy Laddish for 14th all time on that list.

It was Rodriguez’s 38th start in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, tying her with Merritt Mathias for 12th all time on that list.

Victoria Pickett recorded her first professional assist.
