Major League Soccer is back! Sporting Kansas City got off to a hot start to the 2021 regular season with a road win over the New York Red Bulls. If you didn’t get the chance to watch it live, you can always go back and watch it in your DVR (you record all the games, right?) or if you are out of town (or have a parrot on your shoulder) you can watch via ESPN+.
The game wasn’t beautiful and it featured a unique lineup that was absent plenty of injured players, but Sporting KC still managed to get it done. That was despite a delightful goal from 17-year-old Caden Clark. The Red Bull lead would be short lived as SKC put in back-to-back goals to take and hold on to the lead.
Below is the 10-minute recap put out by MLS. It, unfortunately, includes the commentary from the Red Bulls broadcast. The play-by-play guy is okay but the color commentator is a bit much for me.
For the full match recap, check out Jimmy Mack’s game recap, full of highlights or if you missed out on the in-game discussion, be sure to read up on the match thread.
