Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: A Weekend Full of Soccer

Stats and milestones from a weekend of KC soccer action.

If you wanted to just sit and watch Kansas City soccer teams this weekend it was a good weekend to do it as all three professional outdoor teams were in action this weekend. Including Wednesday’s Sporting Kansas City game in Houston the only day without a KC pro team playing was on Thursday. On Friday, Sporting KC II suffered a 4-0 home loss to the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. On Saturday, Kansas City NWSL kicked off the 2021 regular season in Louisville, playing to a 0-0 draw with expansion side Racing Louisville. Then on Sunday you had Sporting take the field against the Vancouver Whitecaps at Children’s Mercy Park. Here are stats and milestones from all four of the games over the past week.

Sporting KC

Graham Smith made his 44th league start, breaking his tie with Tyler Pasher for 7th all time on that list.

KC NWSL

In the 50th minute, Amy Rodriguez moved ahead of Mandy Laddish and into 13th place for league minutes played for KC NWSL teams. Rodriguez finished the game with 2,912 minutes played.

Rodriguez made her 43rd appearance in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, tying her with Brittany Kolmel for 12th all time on that list.

Rodriguez made her 42nd start in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, tying her with Kolmel for 10th all time on that list.

In the 66th minute, Katie Bowen moved ahead of Christina Gibbons and into 18th place for league minutes played for KC NWSL teams. She finished the game with 2,109 minutes played.

In the 30th minute, Bowen moved ahead of Heather O’Reilly and into 17th all time for minutes played in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, she finished the game with 2,379 minutes played.
