Juice Boxes and Post Game Stats: Zusi Ties Another Besler Record

Stats and milestones from the last week’s games.

Graham Zusi continues to climb the record books for Sporting Kansas City as he tied former teammate Matt Besler for another record on Saturday night against the Houston Dynamo. Like when Zusi broke his tie with Besler for appearances in league plays, he’ll have the chance to set the record against the former holder as Besler and Austin FC will be Sporting’s next opponent on June 12th. Here are stats and milestones from the rest of the action this past week.

Sporting Kansas City

Graham Zusi made his 348th appearance in all competitions for KC, tying him with Matt Besler for the most all time in club history.

In the 70th minute, Roger Espinoza passed Kerry Zavagnin and moved into 3rd place all time for league minutes played for KC he finished the game with 20,522 minutes played.

Espinoza made his 251st start in MLS competitions, tying him with Zavagnin for 3rd all time on that list.

KC NWSL

Desiree Scott made her 56th league start for KC NWSL teams, tying her with Yael Averbuch for 6th all time on that list.

In the 65th minute, Katie Bowen moved ahead of Amy LePeilbet and into 16th place for minutes played in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, she finished the game with 2,537 minutes played.

Bowen made her 40th appearance in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, breaking her tie with Mandy Laddish for 15th all time on that list.

Bowen made her 26th league start for KC NWSL teams, breaking her tie with Heather O’Reilly for 16th all time on that list.

Bowen and Amy Rodriguez made their 37th league appearance for KC NWSL teams, tying them with Laddish for 14th all time on that list.

Rodriguez made her 45th appearance in all competitions for KC NWSL teams, tying her with Merritt Mathias for 11th all time on that list.

Rodriguez made her 36th league start for KC NWSL teams, breaking her tie with Mathias for 12th all time on that list.

Bowen and Rodriguez made their 38th league appearance for KC NWSL teams, breaking their tie with Laddish for 14th all time on that list.

In the 2nd minute, Wilson Harris moved ahead of Oumar Ballo and into 11th place all time for minutes played in all competitions for SKC II. Harris finished the game with 3,362 minutes played.
