Sporting Kansas City announced another Homegrown player signing today. Kayden Pierre was signed to a four-year contract through 2024 with an option for 2025. Pierre becomes the 18th Homegrown to come from the Sporting Kansas City Academy.
The 18-year-old outside back is a native of Rochester Hills, Michigan where he played for Varder SC before joining SKC’s Academy in 2018 and living with a host family. Since joining Sporting KC’s Academy, Pierre has played with the U15’s, U17’s, U19’s and with Sporting KC II on an Academy Contract.

Pierre started the 2021 preseason with the first team, appearing in four friendly matches while in Arizona. He also appeared for SKC II last year on an Academy contract and then again in preseason this year and started their first game in the USL Championship regular season.
The speedy defender can play either side as an outside back. He has the speed to get into the attack and recover back when needed and good tackling skills. In preseason with SKC II, Pierre beat several players in the Omaha and then played an accurate pass into the box for an assist.
