Sporting Kansas City will lose two players for the upcoming International Window running from August 30th through September 8th. Sporting KC forward Daniel Salloi has been selected to the Hungary Men’s National Team and midfielder Gadi Kinda has been named to the Israel Men’s National Team.

Salloi has been on a MVP candidate pace this season with twelve goals and six assists and just returning from an MLS All-Star appearance. He was last called up in 2018 but did not make an appearance at that time. “I’ve been one time and it was a good experience, but I didn’t get to make my debut, so it will be a dream come true to actually step on the field,” Salloi stated.

Hungary will be attempting to qualify for the World Cup for the first time since 1986. The Magyars face England on Sept. 2, Albania on Sept. 5 and Andorra on Sept. 8. They are in second place, two points behind England with seven matches left to play. First place in the six-team group will qualify for the 2022 World Cup while the second-place team will need to play in a World Cup playoff round with other second-place UEFA nations.

Kinda and Israel will visit Faroe Islands on Sept. 1, host Austria on Sept. 4 and then head to Denmark on Sept. 7 in UEFA Group F of World Cup qualifying. He made his national team debut on June 5, where he subbed in to score in his debut, helpoing Israel beat Montenegro 3-1. Kinda made his first start in the next match, facing Portugal in a 4-0 loss.

Israel is in third place in Group F behind Denmark and Scotland. With seven matches left, Israel will be hard pressed to advance to first place since Denmark is five points up on them already. Scotland is only one point above Israel and the two teams meet up again in October. Israel hosted Scotland in March where the teams played to a 1-1 draw.

Both Kinda and Salloi will head to Europe following Sporting Kansas City’s home match against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, August 28th. Sporting KC plays at LAFC on September 3rd and both players will miss that match. Travel, fatigue and quarantine rules may force them to miss the match on September 11th when Sporting KC hosts the Chicago Fire.
